Alicia Rosselle, MAcOM, LAc received her Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland, Oregon. She is nationally certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) in both Acupuncture and Chinese herbology and is licensed by the state of Maine Board of Complementary Health Providers. Alicia furthered her studies in the treatment of gynecological disorders, musculoskeletal pain, and pediatrics by completing an internship at the Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Nanjing, China. Through this experience she was honored to study with renowned Chinese doctors Dr. Ningsheng "Flying-Needle" Wang, Dr. Shengchao Zhu, and Dr. Ning Hao. She has also pursued additional acupuncture training through Dr. Richard Tan, who developed his famous "Balance Method" acupuncture system to treat all types of physical and emotional conditions. This method is known for using few needles and getting quick results - especially with pain conditions. Alicia strives to provide effective and gentle care to patients, incorporating acupuncture, herbal medicine, and Asian massage as a means to balance both the physical and emotional aspects of health. Alicia's ultimate goal, which is also the goal of Chinese Medicine overall, is to treat the root of the problem and not simply to mask a symptom. Alicia enjoys general practice and sees patients with a variety of conditions and health goals. She specializes in the treatment of musculoskeletal pain disorders, headaches and foot pain which is complemented by her ability to effectively treat poor digestion, allergies, auto-immune diseases, and menstrual disorders.
Alicia grew up in Upstate New York and lived in Portland, Oregon for many years. Returning to the east coast, and specifically to Maine, is a dream fulfilled. She is so happy to finally be able to call beautiful Maine her home. Additionally, she holds a Bachelors of Arts in Sculpture from Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts. She continues to pursue her artistic endeavors by creating welded steel sculptures and functional pieces through her business, Firebelle Metalworks. She is an avid animal lover and can often be found hiking with her yellow lab, Moxie, exploring the nooks and crannies of New England.
